What is OFT (Omnichain Fungible Token)?
An OFT (Omnichain Fungible Token) is a LayerZero token standard that lets one asset live natively on multiple chains with a unified supply: tokens are burned on the source chain and minted on the destination, so no wrapped copies or bridge pools accumulate. CHZ and several fan tokens use OFT to exist beyond Chiliz Chain.

Why omnichain supply matters for tracking
With a classic bridge, each destination chain holds a wrapped IOU backed by tokens locked in a bridge contract — supply fragments and bridge risk accumulates. An OFT instead burns on one chain and mints on another through LayerZero messaging, keeping one global supply that is verifiable by summing the per-chain balances.
For a data desk this changes the audit question from 'is the bridge solvent?' to 'do the per-chain supplies reconcile to the global cap?' — a check that can be run from public RPCs without trusting any dashboard.
